Key Dates:

The Registration for Innovation Challenge 2008 are now open.

The contest is open to under-graduates of all engineering streams.

Details:

The Contest:

Schneider Electric welcomes you to come up with an innovative solution to showcase the efficient utilization of energy. The solution can be implemented to any kind of industry or residential setup. The key points on which the solution will be judged are:

  • Innovation
  • Practical application of the solution
  • Attention to detail’ in presenting the concept
  • Backing up the solution with factual details
  • Teamwork

The Topics:

  1. Electrification of rural areas at low cost
  2. Innovative solutions to optimize energy usage
  3. Web and wireless technologies to measure, monitor and control energy

Team and Team Member Eligibility

Student teams can consist of a maximum of 4 members. All team members must be full-time and bonafide active students registered at participating institutions/universities during the entire period of the competition. The contest is open to under-graduates of all engineering streams. A student is not allowed to be a member of more than one team participating in the contest. Each team can propose only one innovative idea. Multiple entries are not allowed.

Entries:

The entries should be in the form of a technical paper according to the prescribed “Submission format”. The team details are supposed to be filled up while registering your team online.

Submission of Entries:

The entries should be uploaded online with your unique team name given during registration.
The teams will receive an acknowledgment from Schneider Electric on receiving the entries. If you do not receive a response from us then please contact us through one of the channels on the Contact Us page.

Final Presentation:

The short listed teams will be invited to present their ideas/solutions at our research and development facility in Bangalore. A panel of judges will assess the presentations and select the best from them. Each team will be allotted a time of 20 minutes for presentation and another 5 minutes for Q & A. Teams are requested to carry their presentations on a CD or USB storage device.

Format of the paper

  • Title
  • Abstract: Brief overview
  • Concept: The idea behind the paper
  • Application: The effectiveness of the solution
  • Innovation: What has not been done before
  • Conclusion: Benefits of the solution
  • Bibliography and Appendix.
