International Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award

Key Dates:
Application Deadline – 10 October 2008

For Whom: Fashion Entrepreneurs between the ages of 25 and 35 working in any of the following:

  • Fashion, textile, accessories or perfume design and production
  • Fashion promotion: shows, exhibitions, festivals, events
  • Fashion retail: buying, merchandising
  • Fashion product research, sourcing, supply chain management
  • Fashion marketing, PR, branding, journalism
  • Fashion publishing, communications, websites
  • Consultants providing specialist services in any of the areas outlined

The Young Fashion Entrepreneur award aims to champion and celebrate the importance of creative entrepreneurs working in the field of fashion. It seeks to showcase international innovation in fashion promotion, using the UK as the nexus for cultural, creative and commercial exchange.

Winners of the International Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award will get to –

  • Take part in a showcase opportunity to promote innovative work from their country which they feel is appropriate for the UK and wider international market – details TBC.
  • In addition, work selected for the showcase will also be featured on the Creative Economy webpage for visitors to vote for their favourite.
  • Participate in the IYFE (International Young Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year) award where the jury will select the overall international winner of the award.
  • The winner will receive a YCE bowl designed by acclaimed glass designers Gillies Jones Glass
  • In addition to the award title, the winner receives a financial prize (£7,500) to be spent on a collaborative project with the British Council that builds the relationship between the winning country and the UK.
  • Attend the London Fashion Week.
