National Symposium on Change Management is being organised by Xavier Institute of Development and Studies (XIDAS). Change management is a structured approach to change in individuals, in teams or groups, in organizations and in societies that enables the transition from a current state to a desired future state.
The proposed National Symposium on “Change Management” aims at the following:
1. To enlighten the managers, individuals, groups, students — who want to know why changes happen — how changes happen and what needs to be done in order to make the changes more welcoming and to offer insights into different frameworks and ways to see how changes occur;
2. To highlight the fact that poor change management can lead to disastrous results and changes managed effectively could lead to more satisfying results and more fulfilling lives;
3. To delve into the theories of Change Management;
4. To propose ways and means that will help people to get a sense of change and offer them ways and means to initiate, undergo and implement changes;
5. To examine critically the factors related to change management at different levels – individuals, groups, organizations, the values of communities, families, culture, environment, etc.;
6. To develop and propose sustainable models for successful individual /organizational change;
7. To identify and propose a structured approach, i.e., process, techniques and tools for effective change management;
8. To develop and propose change management strategies for public/private organizations;
9. To identify key indicators/characteristics of organizations and individuals, that change meaningfully.
10. To identify and propose ways and means that will help individuals/groups/organizations: a) to make the change management process a success; b) to manage change, cope with uncertainty and move ahead for better; c) to manage change with creativity and innovativeness.
