FOSS Meet@NITC is an annual event on Free and Open Source Software at NIT Calicut. FOSSMeet @ NITC is jointly organised by NIT Calicut Student Branches of IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), CSI(Computer Society of India), CSEA(Computer Science and Engineering Association) and GLUGC(GNU/Linux Users Group Calicut). This event brings together foss enthusiasts from all over India. It is a confluence of some of the best minds in the field of software innovation and development.
FOSSDev:
FOSSDev is an year long (Jan ‘08 to FOSSMeet@NITC ‘09) contest which aims at promoting contributions to FOSS projects. The participants are not expected to have prior experience at all. Each team will be assigned a mentor who will guide them starting from the basics. Total prize money amounts to Rs. 23,500 (will increase, subjected to sponsorships). It is a team event and teams can have maximum size of four.
